This Centre was Started in the capital of Rajasthan on April 19,1988,
which was the auspicious Akshay Tritiya day.It fulfilled the cherished
wish of the great Prophet of New India, Swami Vivekananda,who has enjoined
on his Gurubhai,(Swami Akhandananda in a letter that he wrote to him from
London on Nov.13,1895)"Take particular care to start a center in Rajputana.
It must be in some central place like Jaipur or Ajmer."Both the places had
earlier been sanctified by the visits of Holy Mother Sri Ma Sarada devi
as well as some of the first disciples of the Master who all came here
to have Darshan of Sri Govinda Deoji.Swamiji himself is known to have
graced this beautiful city by his august presence thrice-once in 1891
and yet again in 1893,it is on record that he had come to Jaipur in the
company of Shri Ajit Singhji Bahadur,the Raja of Khetri, and Stayed in
the Khetri House near Chandpole in the outskirts of the city.
