Last Year, to Commemorate Swamiji birthday (The National Youth Day), a Swami Vivekananda Elocution Contest(in Hindi and English) for boys and girls of class 5th to 12th was held on 17th and 18th January.1650 students from 40 schools participated in the competion.The prize distribution function was held on 13th March in which the HON.Speaker of Rajastjan Assembly,Smt.Sumitra Singh,gave away prizes to the 160 winners of the Elocution Contest.Swami Nikhilamanandajee presided over the meeting. Dr.Rajlakshmi Verma,Prof. of Sanskrit, Allahabad University, addressed the gathering on the occasion. The Running Shield awarded annually to the school sending the best team of speakers, went to Vidyashram,Jaipur. Afterwards, a public meeting was held in which light was thrown on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda by various speakers. MEDICAL A total number of 13416 cases(10016 new and 3400 old) were treated inn our allopathic dispensary and a total of 2811 case(1385 new and 1426 old) in the homeopathic section.We have Honorary doctors giving their services.During the work under review,medical relief in the Ashram Dispensary was provided to a large number of patients, hailing particularly from the poorer sections od society. We Had Seven honarary doctors(six Allopathic and one Homeopathic) on our medical panel and we gave free treatment to our patients. Mobile Medical Dispensary: Every sunday our Mobile Medical Relief team went to the neighbouring villages (in the vicnity of jamwa-Ramgarh, which is 23kms. from Jaipur)and rendered free medical treatment to a large number of poor patients.(It may be mentioned here that on January 9, 2000, the Mobile rural Heath and Eye-Care Service Programme, was inaugurated by the noted surgeon of Jaipur, Dr.Onkar Saxena, and the relief work is being carried out since then very regularly.Also, the Mission would like to express its gratitude to the Blind Foundation for India, USA, which had provided the funds for the purchase of a Mahendra Marshal Medical Van by means of which the relief work is being carried out.)DROUGHT RELIEF WORK The Jaipur Centre distributed 715 quintals of Cattle Fodder(Tudi) among 970 poor families of 10 badly drought affected villages in Osian Tehsil of Jodhpur district in May and June 2003. The fodder,which was sufficient for two months, was meant to feed 1570 cows. The Centre organized eight cattle camps in Jodhpur, Barmer and Bikaner Districts of Rajasthan a few years back. Shelter, dry fodder, green fodder, cattle feed, water in adequate quantity, was provided to the animals under our care.Medical assistance was also provided in Aug-Sep. In September 2006, flood Relief work was done at Shiv Tehsil , Distt. Barmer. We distributed 6060 blankets and 3000 tarpaulin tents which covered several villages and dhanies, thereby benefiting 3000 families. RELIGIOUS: Daily worship was performed in the Shrine Room and bhajan-singing was done as well as weekly discoursed delivered on every Sunday evening before aratrika.Also 42 Pravachana were given outside the centre from time to time. |
