AN APPEAL FOR THE
PROPOSED UNIVERSAL TEMPLE OF SRI RAMAKRISHNA AT JAIPUR

The desire of Swami Vivekananda to have a centre at Jaipur was fulfilled by Belur Math on April 19, 1988 - Akshaya Tritiya Day. Jaipur the Pink City is the capital of Rajasthan. Tourists from India & abroad are attracted by number of heritage sites here.

Jaipur city does bear the impress of the foot prints of Ma Saradamani Devi, Swamiji and many direct disciples. Even in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Jaipur’s famous Govindaji Temple finds a place.

As the present shrine hall is small,  the above temple is proposed. It shall welcome people belonging to any caste, creed and religions. The foundation stone of this Temple was laid on 20th November 2003, by the present Rev. President Maharaj Srimat Swami Gahananandaji Maharaj.

Jaipur Temple's plan is based upon Swami Vivekananda's ideas and concepts. We find in the Main Temple at Belur Math many architectural features of Jaipur's Palaces and Forts are implemented. The proposed Temple would also reflect the above.
